I purchased a portable DVD player w/ LCD screen last June 2007 in which I paid it in a 3-month installment using my credit card. I was so excited to have a DVD player of my own so that I can watch my favorite movie (and XXX movies) in my room. The brand of my DVD player is "COBY" which is very unknown to me but what the heck I dont care as long as it is cheap. As I bought it in Metro Ayala Cebu.. well yun... the usual.. testing there and there to make sure na ok siya before selling to me. I asked about the warranty then sabi naman nung saleslady "yes sir it has a 1yr warranty" yun lang. After days of using it, I noticed that in the middle of the movie nagha-hung na cya. So akala ko naman baka may problema yung CD na ginamit ko. So try ako ng ibang CD. Same thing happend. Oh God, ano to?! Di pa nga ko tapos magbayad nito tapos tumirik na cya?!
Due to unavailable ako dahil sa work so hirap ako maghanap ng time to get this stupid crap fix. Nang nakahanap ako ng time, ayun... punta ako kaagad sa Metro Ayala. The same saleslady yung umasikaso sa kin. She said " sir dun na po kayu sa service center nitong unit na to. Sa Colon." Tapos sabi ko naman " hah? Why didn't you tell me in the first place na hindi dito dadalhin yan? ". Super insist pa rin yung girl na di talaga daw sa kanila yan. Ok lang daw sana na hinatid ko raw ang unit seven days after ko sya binili. Punyeta eh hindi naman nya sinabi sa'kin yun nang bumili ako. Tapos I asked her how about the warranty? " sir meron po yang 1yr service warranty." SERVICE?! Eh pano yung mga parts nya? "service lang po talaga yung may warranty." Ai nako double punyeta! ba't di mo sinabi sa kin before ako bumili. Tripple punyeta na talaga..... Nakakabwisit!!!!!!!!
So the next day I went to the said service center daw sa Colon. Ayon sabi ng clerk dun " sir tatawagin ka lang namin if ok na cya at kung anong babayaran mo. Ai nako another punyeta to the max!!! Another charges?! eh di pa nga ako tapos magbayad nyan another bayad na naman?!!! Ai nako punyeta to the next level na talaga. Cge ok plz call me kung ano ok!!! So super leave ako sa punyetang place na yun. Parang hindi service shop yung itchura.
After weeks of waiting, I called up that punyetang service shop to follow-up my stupid crap DVD player. "Sir ok na sya. Yung charges nya is Php 1,800 po." WHAAAAATTTT?!!!!
Ba't ang mahal? " Kasi po mahirap talagang hanapin yung part na sira. Pinalitan po yung CD lense nya. Mahal po kasi nun." Ok so may warranty ba yang part na pinalit nyo? "wala po sir. Service lang po."........ Oh my Gulay!!!! what kind of a service company are you?!!!
Eh pano kapag may manufacturing defect yan? at talagang posibleng mangyari yan. " Sir depende na po yan sa paggamit" Aba ang bruha parang pinapalabas na ako yung may negligence. FYI kahit na nga yung N5110 phone ko ( yes meron pa akong N5110 phone. still alive and kicking!) eh may little pillow pa nga yun! Yes i'm serious! eh yun pa kayang DVD na mahal. So ayon umoo nalang ako. I'm tired of arguing. Gusto ko nga mag-file ng complaint sa management ng Metro Ayala pero ayoko na. pagud na ko.
Lesson learned:
Purchase an appliance or gadget that has a known brand. If not make sure to ask where is the service center if in case tumirik yung gadget mo.
Always ask for the warranty (details) of the purchased item. Eg. Service warranty, Parts warranty, etc.
If there is a warranty, definitely they some papers for you to sign. If wala, magduda na kayo.
Still I would recommend branded items nalang yung bilhin nyo para sigurado. You dont want to end up like me.
